Is vinyl lettering difficult to apply?

Not at all! Here are some simple instructions.

  • Make sure that the surface you are attaching the lettering to is clean and dry.
  • Peel off backing and make sure the lettering is stuck to the transfer tape (front clear tape). If the letters are not lifting off the backing easily, try rubbing firmly over the lettering, and then removing the backing with backing side up (transfer tape towards the floor).
  • Put the transfer tape with the lettering on the desired surface and make sure that it is level. (Use bottom of letters to determine whether or not it is level, and not edge of paper. Paper may not always be cut exact). Start on one end of the lettering and press it onto the surface.
  • Use a credit card or something similar to firmly rub the lettering on the surface.
  • Peel off transfer tape leaving the lettering on the surface. If a letter remains on transfer tape repeat the previous step on that letter.
  • After you have removed the transfer tape, press your fingers over the lettering to make sure that it is stuck to the surface. ENJOY!

For layered lettering, just apply second layer over the first, using the same application technique as the first layer.

How can I easily apply long phrases?

  • Use masking tape along the top edge of lettering to attach to the wall, making sure the lettering is level (Use bottom of letters to determine whether or not it is level, and not edge of paper. Paper may not always be exact).
  • On long phrases, cut in between words (after it has been taped to surface) to create smaller sections that can be applied one section at a time, for easier application.
  • Using the masking tape as a hinge, lift lettering up and peel off backing, making sure the lettering is stuck to the transfer tape (front clear tape). If the letters are not lifting off the backing easily, try rubbing firmly over the lettering.
  • Once backing is removed, lower transfer tape to wall, and press firmly.
  • Finish applying by rubbing over with credit card to apply lettering as normal.

Can vinyl lettering be removed and reused?

Yes, the lettering can be removed. You simply need to use a hot blow dryer to loosen the adhesive and avoid peeling paint off the wall. However, the lettering cannot be reapplied once it has been removed. It looses its adhesive in the removal process and is usually damaged.

What surfaces can vinyl lettering be applied to?

This vinyl can be applied to any clean, flat surfaces such as: Wood, Glass, Paper, Glass, Walls, Sheet Metal, Mirrors, etc.

Does each letter have to be applied individually?

No, your lettering comes pre-spaced as one large piece so it is easy to apply all at once. Two color layouts, and occasionally large phrases or layered items may come in more than one piece.
